ADMISSIONS POLICY
Our group is accessible to children from all sections of the local community.
In order to accomplish this the group will:-
- ensure the existence of the group is widely known in all local communities.
Notices advertising the group will be displayed in places where all sections
of the
community can see them, in more than one language if appropriate.
- describe the group and its practices in terms which make it clear to both
fathers
and mothers, other relations and other carers, including childminders, people
from all cultural, ethnic, religious and social groups, with and without disabilities,
are
welcome.
- arrange the waiting list in order of date of birth. lf there is a shortage
of places
and two children are eligibles priority will be given to the child who was
registered first. During the second year at Playgroup i.e. - 4 year olds,
priority
will be given to those children who will be starting at Ysgol Pen-y Bryn,
Tywyn, in September.
- arrange informal visits to the group for parents/carers and children, prior
to the offer of a place. and give parents/carers the opportunity to discuss
the admission of their children with a supervisor.
- monitor the gender and ethnic background of children joining the group to
ensure no accidental discrimination is taking place.
- make the Equal Opportunities Policy widely known.
- be flexible about attendance patterns to accommodate the needs if individual
children and families.
- Encourage parental involvement in the management and day to day running
of the group
